ACFL Division ii Competition

Shandonagh 0-8 St. Mary's Rochfortbridge 1-18

Last Sunday morning in our own pitch in Shandonagh, we suffered our heaviest defeat this year to date. Despite going 4 points to no score to the good in the opening 6 minutes, we completely lost the run of ourselves for the remaining 50 minutes and paid the price as a result. This poor effort and attitude will have to be rectified prior to next weekend's Championship game against Tang or we will be badly beaten.

Ballynacargy 0-12 Shandonagh 2-6

On Saturday last our Division ii side travelled to near neighbours Ballynacargy in the opening encounter of the 2016 ACFL Division ii competition.

This was a good workmanlike performance. Whilst we were missing a few regulars it was good to see Mick Gray's son in laws make their Shandonagh debuts. We welcome Kevin Downes and David Schaill to The cauldron that is Shandonagh Ballynacarrigy derby games. In this game we saw committed performances from Cathal Craig, Garry Flanagan and Kevin Boyle. That said however, there is still lots of work to be done on the training pitch. If I remember correctly we began last years campaign with a draw too.
