Ladies Football

The Ladies had a tough week with two games in 5 days. Their opening league encounter with Athlone was a tough affair with Athlone pulling away in the second half. Full time score Shandonagh 1-5 – Athlone 5-10.

Their second game of the week was against St. Josephs and this again was an extremely fast and gritty game. The girls found their rhythm in the second half with some fine scores coming from Siofra Molloy and Edel Conaty. Captain Emma Glennon netted a penalty and this helped the girls to up the tempo to become eventual winners. Full time score Shandonagh 6-7 – St Josephs 3-10.

On Friday Shandonagh play hosts to Loughnavalley at 7 pm and on Sunday to Goldsmith Girls at 12 pm. Both games are in Shandonagh.

The club wishes to extend it’s condolences to the Lynn Family, Shandonagh. Queenie was a huge part of Shandonagh GAA for many years and will always be remembered as a true gem. Queenie will be truly missed and we will include her in our daily prayers.
